A speed boat capsized off Ayvacık in Turkey's Aegean province of Çanakkale and left three people killed while seeking to cross into Greek island illegally.
Lifeless bodies of two women and a five-year-old girl were pulled out from the sea. The migrants were said to be of Afghan origin, guided by human smugglers.
Meanwhile, 13 migrants including women and children were rescued, as five of them swam ashore and the others were helped by coast guard teams.
A baby in critical health condition was hospitalized to Ayvacık State Hospital, while the others were brought to the Küçükkuyu neighborhood dock.
Investigations are ongoing at the scene as more migrants are thought to be in the boat before the incident.
