– TAV Airport Holding's Atatürk Airport in Istanbul has scaled up its passenger numbers and marked the third among European countries in 2015 for the first time.
Passenger number to Ataturk Airport rose by 8.2 percent to 61 million 323 thousand people in 2015. Thus, the airport's rate has outdistanced Frankfurt and Amsterdam Airports in the rating.
London's Heathrow Airport was found to have the highest number of passengers with 75 million 20 thousand people. This was followed by Charles de Gaulle Airport in Paris with 65 million 767 thousand passengers and Istanbul Ataturk Airport with 61 million 323 thousand people.
Frankfurt Airport followed Ataturk Airport as the fourth of the list with 61 million 41 thousand passengers and Amsterdam Schiphol Airport marked the fifth airport with highest passenger rate by 58 million 246 thousand passengers.
