Actress Isla Fisher and comedian Sacha Baron Cohen, a renowned Hollywood couple, said they were to donate around 1 million dollars to help Syrian refugees.
While the couple will give half of the money to Save the Children in a bid to support funding of “measles vaccinations for children in northern Syria”, the other half will be donated to the International Rescue Committee (IRC) to help “particularly women and children, with health care, shelter and sanitation” according to the Guardian's report.
Millions from Syria have fled their home country while others have been forced to leave their homes, marking on the worst tragedies of modern history.
The money would “save many thousands of lives and protect some of the most vulnerable children”, confirmed Justin Forsyth, chief executive of Save the Children, adding the “generous donation” would help to “highlight the tragedy of the issue today”
IRC, on the other hand, called the donation of Fisher and Cohen a “great expression of humanity”.
