Russian FM says nothing new after first bilateral talk on jet crisis
Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlüt Çavuşoğlu said it would be unrealistic to expect all problems to be solved with Russia after a single meeting, over the bilateral contact on the sidelines of a conference of the Organisation for Security and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE) in Belgrade, on Dec. 3.

His Russian counterpart Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov, on the other hand, remarked he had not heard anything new over the first bilateral contact since the Turkish airforce's shot down of a Russian bomber in Syria, on Nov. 24.

"We met with the head of the Turkish Foreign Ministry on his insistent request. We heard nothing new" Lavrov said a televised news conference, while Çavuşoğlu commented that it was important to keep communication channels open.

"The incident on the 24th of November ... should not be confused with our fighting against our common enemy of Daesh, terrorism and should not be abused for political objectives" Çavuşoğlu said, during the OSCE conference, using an Arabic term for the Islamic State (IS).
