A fire has broken out in Istanbul's Anatolian district of Maltepe at a hotel construction, on Jan. 12.
Workers were stuck in the building's top floors after the fire in Gülsuyu district of Maltepe. Two workers were rescued by the fire department, while 12 others managed to step outside the building on their own.
The fire broke out as flames of a welder splattered, according to Maltepe Mayor Ali Kılıç.
While two workers were hospitalized, they have no reported risk of death.
The fire was brought under control after two-hour-long efforts.
Significant material damage was reported, while the otel was expected to come into operation in two months.
