Arçelik to invest new factory in Romania

Arçelik plans to invest a new factory within a project to cost 105 million euros to produce washing machines in Romania, through its subsidiary Arctic.

According to the statement of Arçelik released by the Public Disclosure Platform, Arctic whose 96.7 percent shares are owned by Arçelik in Romania, has called General Assembly of the Shareholders to meet on Feb. 15 with the agenda to approve the project.

Investment costs of this factory - with 1.1 million capacity for producing washing machines and 500 thousand capacity for dishwashers - will reach around 105 million euros in total, if Romania state subsidy of 37.5 million euros is obtained in cash, said the statement.

“After General Assembly of Shareholders, state aid request will be done and new developments will be disclosed to the public” added the statement.
